Team of FA 2021
Founded in Fall 2020, the Carbon Calculators team consists of undergraduate students who analyze and reduce the carbon footprints of small to midsize businesses. Using extensive data and an Excel-based tool, they calculate CO2-equivalent emissions and advise on mitigation strategies, including carbon offsets and direct decarbonization, enhancing corporate sustainability.
Current Work:
Calculating the total carbon emissions of businesses in a variety of industries
Interpreting these carbon footprints and identifying key areas for companies to improve their sustainability and reduce their emissions
Helping businesses to become Carbon Neutral or Carbon Negative through purchases of carbon offsets
Developing a workshop to teach other sustainable consulting firms how to calculate carbon emissions
What We Have Done:
Researched current carbon calculators and evaluated their usefulness for our clients
Created our own carbon calculator based on data from the EPA
Helped WA:IT to become the first carbon negative Italian beauty brand.
